Tigers are Pre-Season #1!!

After 3 years of building, the Campbellsville University wrestling team has climbed the NAIA wrestling mountain. The tigers will be starting the fourth year of the CU wrestling program and will do it as the Pre Season # 1 ranked team in the nation. How does that happen? According to coach James, " it starts with recruiting, bringing in people like John Chidester, Kaci Payne and Kyle Norred to start our program really laid the foundation for who we are and what kind of people we want in our program." "All of these guys are committed to excellence and striving to be the best in whatever they do. When you have 10 wrestlers or even 30 and 40 wrestlers trying to be their best all the time you will have success."

It's nice to be ranked # 1 and think we have earned it. However, we will still have to prove it once the competition starts and I believe this team is up to the challenge. We starting training in September for a Ring, not a ranking. Since the rankings came out, I have not seen a change in how these guys go about their business and I don't think they will lose focus. We have not won anything yet!
