Campbellsville, KY- Fans filled the new Gosser Gym to watch Campbellsville University take down Cumberland University tonight.

The #18 CU Tiger Wrestling Team dispatched of a Cumberland University team that came into Gosser gym undefeated with blow out wins over Carson-Newman and University of the Cumberlands. With the match starting at 133 pounds, Campbellsville sent Freshman sensation Tommy Pretty to the mat. After a quick takedown and nearfall, Pretty started the tigers off with a pin of Anthony Mellilo two minutes into the first period.

Cumberland then ran off three straight wins at 141,149 and 157 pounds. Junior Bryan Wells got the Tigers back on track when he scored a 17-6 major decision over Andrew Blackwell at 165 pounds. At 174 Phillip Oudhuis got another win for CU as he scored a 3-2 decision over Trey Meyers.

Freshman Spencer Adams kept the momentum going with his 8-5 decision over Eric Metzler at 184 pounds. Glen Jackson really ignited the packed house with his :41 second fall at 197 pounds. #8 Ranked Chad Brown dropped a close 3-2 decision to BJ Stewart at heavyweight and Johny Papesh closed out the duel for Campbellsville with a solid 8-2 decision over Desean Willis.

The Tigers finished the night with a solid outing, getting the first duel meet win of the season by a final score of 25-13. Campbellsville is up next in Lafayette, Indiana this Saturday in the Boilermaker duels at Purdue University. Campbellsville will face Northern Illinois at 10 am, NCAA #23 ranked Kent State at 12:00 and finish with Big Ten member Purdue University at 2:00 pm.
