Tigers Roar at Newberry Duels!

The Campbellsville University wrestling team travelled to Newberry South Carolina on Tuesday to take part in the 2nd annual Newberry Duels. In all, ten teams competed in the event. The Tigers were paired up with NCAA division II schools Belmont Abbey, UNC-Pembroke and nationally ranked Ashland.

Freshman Spencer Adams (pictured above) went 3-0 on the day and really gave the Tigers a boost in the upper weight classes. Adams, competing at 184, started with a major decision against Belmont Abbey, got a pin against UNC-Pembroke and finished with a 5-2 win over Ashland. Tommy Pretty also went 3-0 on the day competing at 133 pounds. Tommy continues to lead the team in Pins and was able to get 2 more falls this weekend. He now has 10 pins on the season.
