Tigers win the 29th annual ONU Invitational!

Strong performances by finalist Nick Waldrop and Tommy Pretty help Campbellsville claim the title. Nick Waldrop reached the finals at 149 pounds to face Mitch Smith of West Liberty. Smith is ranked #3 in NCAA division II.  Waldrop wrestled well but dropped a 8-7 decision and suffered his first loss of the year at 149 pounds. Tommy Pretty also wrestled a ranked NCAA II wrestler in the finals and also could not come away with the victory. He dropped a 5-4 decision in the finals.  In all Campbellsville had 12 wrestlers place in the tournament and the team finished ahead of a number of ranked NCAA division II and III schools. MSC teams Cumberland and Lindsey Wilson also competed with Cumberland finishing 7th and Lindsey placing outside the top 10.

" Very happy for our team to win this tournament. This is a very strong finish to the first half of our season and sends us into the Christmas break in a positive way.  We will now take some time off to focus on final exams this week and then get back to work over the break to prepare for the Midwest Classic and the National Duels in January. "
