Campbellsville finishes 14th at National Tournament......

The 2007-08 Tiger Wrestling season ended this weekend in Sioux City, Iowa at the Tyson events center. After starting the season as the pre season # 1 ranked team, expectations where very high for this team. The Tigers could not pull it together in Sioux City and came away with 4 All-Americans and a 14th place team finish.

Defending National Champion Zach Flake succesfully recovered from knee surgery and was able to compete at the Championships. Zach wrestled well and finished in 6th place. 2x All-American David Clemens became a 3x All-American after finishing 5th in the 157 pound weight class. 2x All-American Glen Jackson also became a 3x All-American after finishing 6th at the 197 pound weight class. Freshman George Sheppard finished off a great freshman year with a 7th place finish at 157 pounds.

Sophomore Bryan Wells and Freshman Johnny Sinchok both came one win away from becoming an All-American. Seniors James Hicks, Kaci Payne, Kyle Norred and Chris Branam all experienced very tough draws and could not work through the bracket. James and Branam drew a National Champion in the first round and both had close losses. Kaci lost to two All-Americans to be eliminated from the tournament.

Overall, a very tough ending that will motivate this program and the returning wrestlers.
